Why play Cut the Rope here?
All 425 levels of the original Cut the Rope game, in its 17 boxes, with the same rope physics: swipe across ropes to cut them, pop bubbles, puff air cushions and time your cuts so the candy lands in Mochi's mouth. New boxes open as your stars add up, as in the original, and a level you are stuck on can be skipped and finished later.
How You WinGet the candy into Mochi's mouth. The level is cleared the moment Mochi eats it, and the stars the candy touched on the way are your score for the level, up to three. If the candy falls off the screen, hits spikes or is taken by a spider, the level starts again.

Playing Cut the Rope here: common questions
Can I play Cut the Rope online for free?
Yes. This Cut the Rope game is free to play online, with no download and no login. It runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer.
Will I lose my stars if I close the page?
No. Your stars and the levels you have opened are saved in this browser, and the page opens on the level you were playing. A level always starts from its beginning.
Is this the original Cut the Rope?
The levels and the rope physics are the original's: all 425 levels in 17 boxes, from the Cardboard box to the Mechanical one. The look is new: Om Nom, the little green monster, is replaced by Mochi, a big-mouthed cat, and the candy and gadgets are drawn anew.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Swipe across a rope with your finger to cut it. The level button at the bottom left opens the levels; Restart and Menu sit at the bottom right.
Complete Rules
A swipe cuts every rope it crosses. The candy swings and falls with real physics; when it reaches Mochi's mouth the level is won.
Stars count only when the candy touches them. Some stars have a timer and vanish when it runs out.
A bubble lifts the candy; tap the candy to pop it. A dotted circle around a hook ties a new rope to the candy when the candy enters it.
Spikes and electric sparks break the candy; a spider climbing a rope takes it; letting it fall off the screen loses it too. Any of these restarts the level.
Tap an air cushion to blow a puff that pushes the candy. Some hooks slide along a rail when you drag them.
Later boxes add magic hats that pass the candy from one hat to the other, a candy in two halves to join, bouncy pads, wheels that change a rope's length, gravity switches, buttons that turn blade plates, bees, spinning records, ghosts, steam valves, lanterns, mice, night levels lit by bulbs, and conveyor belts.
Your First Game
Before you cut, look at where the candy will swing: cut the rope that sends it toward Mochi, not the one that holds it there.
Get Mochi first, stars second. A cleared level opens the next one; you can come back for missing stars any time.
Watch the ropes turn red: a tight rope is carrying the weight, and cutting it makes the biggest swing.
If the candy is lost the level starts again by itself. Restart does the same at any time.
Practical Strategy
Timing matters more than speed: cut at the far end of a swing so the candy flies the way you want.
Use a bubble to carry the candy up to stars, then pop it over the spot you want it to drop.
A swipe can cut several ropes at once, which lets the candy fall straight instead of swinging.
When a box asks for stars you do not have yet, replay earlier levels that show fewer than three.
Winning and Special Rules
Mochi opens wide when the candy comes close and is sad when it is lost; in the night levels Mochi falls asleep in the dark and wakes when lit.
Your stars and levels are saved in this browser. The page opens on the level you played last.
In Levels, a skipped level has a dashed outline until you clear it; then it shows its stars like the rest.
Common Mistakes
Cutting the wrong rope first is the most common slip: the candy swings away from Mochi or into spikes.
Popping a bubble too early drops the candy short of the stars above it.
Waiting too long with a spider on the way: cut its rope before it reaches the candy.
Cut the Rope FAQ
How do you cut a rope?
Press and drag across it. A swipe cuts every rope it crosses, so one swipe can cut two or three ropes at once; a tap alone cuts nothing.
What are the stars for?
Each level has three, and the candy collects a star by touching it. Your stars add up across all levels, and new boxes open as the total grows: box 2 at 30 stars, box 3 at 80, box 4 at 170, box 5 at 240, box 6 at 300, then every 50 more, up to 850 for box 17.
Can I skip a level?
Yes. Skip level opens the next level in the box without giving any stars, and you can come back for them later. The last level of a box cannot be skipped, because the next box opens on stars.
How do I pick a level?
Open Levels (in the sidebar on a computer, or the level button at the bottom left on a phone). Swipe or use the arrows to choose a box, then tap a level. Levels open one after another inside a box.
