This page is where you sit down and play Shogi against the AI. Capture pieces, drop them back into play, and attack the opposing king in Japanese chess. Difficulty runs from a welcoming beginner level to a demanding expert setting, and you can ask for a master hint whenever you get stuck. The whole game runs locally in your browser — no upload, no download, no account.
How You WinCheckmate the opposing king (gyoku): leave it in check with no way to capture, block, or run. A player who has no legal move at all also loses. Shogi has no stalemate draw and no insufficient-material draw.
